You guys! Jay came up with recipes and we kinda made changes along the way. These Funfetti Milkshakes would be an amazing addition to not only brighten the kids day, but to surprise your guests with at a birthday party! You could even kill a little bit of time at your next party and have each guest make their own, just have the milkshake portion on stand by!
Like seriously how fun does this Funfetti Milkshake look? It’s seriously SO easy to make I can’t even begin to explain it. So easy in fact that the girls are now making this (and other milkshake creations….coming soon!). If you haven’t been over to TikTok the crazier the milkshake the better, but I’m just being practical and not trying to go overboard…cause we don’t really do a whole lotta sugar in this house. You know what I’m sayin’?!?
Alright so let’s say you are having a party! I’m willing to bet you need some party food ideas, am I right? Here’s a few of my favorite entertaining recipes:
- Garlic Bread Pizza
- Smoked Brisket – always a welcome choice with our friends and family! Bonus: there’s not much you need to do!
- Shrimp & Chicken Alfredo (you can totally set this up as a serving station with different noodles, meats and pasta sauces to add some fun!)
Of course, if you are serving this Funfetti Milkshake, you might as well keep the sprinkles out and make these Funfetti Oreo Truffles Recipe! How pretty are they?!? The kids LOVE making these by themselves.
What ingredients do I need to make a Vanilla Bean Funfetti Milkshake?
- 48 oz of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
- Hershey Syrup
- Whipped Cream
- Marshmallows
- Vanilla Icing
- Funfetti Sprinkles (totally forgot to put them in the picture!)
Ingredients to Sub Out when making a Funfetti Milkshake:
You don’t necessarily need to use vanilla bean ice cream other substitutions you can use for the ice cream would be:
- Neapolitan
- Chocolate
- Strawberry
- Funfetti Ice Cream – just be careful here because when you use the blender it’s going to grind the sprinkles down!
This recipe is a basis for you and your family to get started making your own crazy milkshakes.
How do I make a Vanilla Bean Funfetti Milkshake recipe at home?
In a blender add in your tub of ice cream. Blend the ice cream until it’s smooth.
Once the ice cream has a smooth consistency, add in 6-8 tablespoons of milk. Blend the milk into the ice cream until incorporated.
We like a thicker milkshake. If you prefer a runnier milkshake you’ll obviously want to add more milk.
If you are using a Ninja like we did, remove the blade and add in your sprinkles. We used 3/4 of a 9 oz bottle of sprinkles for this recipe. Fold the sprinkles in with a spoon or spatula.
TIP: DO NOT mix your sprinkles with the blade of your blender. This will turn the color of your ice cream and it won’t look so pretty!
Grab the glasses that you are using and prepare the tops of them. I forgot to take pictures of this step but you can always watch the video below to see exactly how we did this step.
Anyhow, using a spatula spread the icing on the top of the glass. Using a flat plate dip your glass in the sprinkles until all the icing is covered.
Fill your glass until nearly full. You’ll want to keep some room in the cup for the whipped cream.
Top your funfetti milkshake with canned whipped cream. You can use the tub stuff, but I think the canned comes out looking prettier!
Drizzle the top of the whipped cream with chocolate syrup. We repeated this step twice so that you can a taller effect of the whipped cream (a little food styling trick for you all!).
Using a wooden skewer place the marshmallows on skewer, using as much or as little as you wish! Then add your straw and you are ready to enjoy your Homemade Funfetti Milkshake!
We hope that you and your family get to spend some time together recreating this recipe. Be sure to leave us a comment below with ideas for the next Milkshake Recipe!
Can I freeze a milkshake after it’s been made?
Well yeah! It’s just ice cream and milk. I recommend putting it in a storage container or even a freezer Ziploc bag. Allow it to thaw for 30 minutes to an hour before you want to serve.
You can also place the glass in a Ziploc bag and defrost that way as well.
