Do you have to refrigerate pumpkin butter?
Yes! The pumpkin puree is perishable, therefore needs to be refrigerated or frozen. It will last up to 3 weeks in the refrigerator or 3 to 6 months if frozen.
What can I use pumpkin butter on?
The kids and I love spreading pumpkin butter over the top of toast or english muffins for a quick breakfast in the morning on those busy fall mornings.
You can also enjoy it topped on waffles, pancakes, french toast, oatmeal, yogurt and vanilla. Add it to crepes as a filling, into your morning smoothie or coffee!

- Pumpkin Puree
- apple juice
- ground ginger
- ground cloves
- ground cinnamon
- ground nutmeg
- white sugar
How to Make Homemade Pumpkin Butter
In a medium sauce pan of medium high heat, place all of the ingredients and stir to combine.
Bring the mixture to a boil and reduce heat.
Allow to simmer for 30 minutes or until the mixture has thickened.
Place is mason jars and store in the refrigerator.

- 15 oz can Pumpkin Puree
- ¾ c apple juice
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp ground cloves
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 c white sugar
Instructions
