1/3cflour
2 1/2cmilk
1tbspground black pepperoptional
Instructions
In a large skillet, cook the sausage until there’s no pink left, over a medium high heat.
Once the sausage is cooked and broken down to your liking, sprinkle the flour over the sausage. You want to make sure the flour soaks up all of the oil.
Once the flour has soaked up the oil, allow it to bake off for 1-2 minutes.
This will ensure your gravy doesn’t taste like flour.
Slowly pour your milk into the skillet, mixing until everything has combined. If you want to add pepper, be sure to add it in once you’ve poured in your milk.
I like to add quite a bit of pepper to my sausage gravy recipe. I typically add about 1- 1 1/2 tablespoons.
Turn your heat to low and allow the gravy to bubble. Once the gravy has bubbled, turn off the heat.
Allow the sausage gravy to thicken.
Enjoy!

Notes
how to store leftover gravy: Place any leftover gravy in a sealed proof container. Keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.how to reheat sausage gravy: You can reheat sausage gravy by placing back in a skillet and heating it back up or the microwave for a few minutes, stirring consistently. You will probably need to add a little milk a tablespoon at a time until you get the consistency that you like as the gravy will thicken even more once cooled and refrigerated.
